IP Phones are designed for use with IP telephony solutions such as Hosted PBX and Business VoIP. These phones convert standard audio into a digital format so it can be transmitted over an IP network, including the internet. Your clients won’t need their own IP phone to get in contact with you – your phone converts whatever format people call you from, whether they also use VoIP or a traditional landline or mobile phone.

IP phones are available in two types – hardware handsets or softphones. Many businesses choose desktop IP hardware handset phones for their PBX system requirements. They look like traditional telephone handsets and have been developed to take full advantage of business VoIP and hosted PBX technology.

SoftPhones are gaining traction in the market and use software that enables your computer to be the device you make and receive calls on.

Our SoftPhone application allows a desk phone number and PBX extension to be setup directly on a computer or any android or iOS device. One SoftPhone app is required per extension, meaning the same app can be used on multiple devices that use the same extension.

Calls to and from the desk phone number can be made from the desktop or mobile app including dialling the extension number of another colleague. The app also offers instant messages between all users.
